Fuji Electric is committed to achieving a sustainable society through its energy and environment businesses. We announced the “Environmental Vision 2050” in 2019 to determine the direction of the Company’s long term environmental activities.
We recently revised our “Fiscal 2030 Goals” to achieve our “Environmental Vision 2050” in light of social trends of striving to achieve a decarbonized society.

We aim to achieve the following goals in order to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

In December, 2022, our Scope1,2 and Scope3(1-8,11) targets have been approved as 1.5˚C targets by the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative).*2.

The International Climate Change Initiative (SBTi) was co-founded by UNGC (United Nations Global Compact), CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project as a former name), WRI (World Resources Institute) and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). It is an organization that assesses and certifies whether the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets established by companies and organizations in each country are “targets based on the science knowledge ” .

Achieve a Decarbonized Society

Achieve a Recycling-Oriented Society

Promote green supply chains and 3R activities to reduce the environmental impact to zero
Fuji Electric will contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented society by advancing 3R* activities at the Company and also at business partners and across the entire supply chain.

In recent years, many have questioned the necessity for a “recycling economy,” a business model in which resources are used in a recyclable manner. Against this backdrop, Fuji Electric will strengthen its efforts to achieve zero emissions by 2050. Conventionally, our focus has been on reducing the amount of final waste in production activities and minimizing water intake. Going forward, in addition to our current initiatives, we will aim to “manufacture products that do not impose environmental burdens throughout their life cycles,” and work to transition to a highly recycling-oriented product model that includes revising designs. Specifically, we will establish new goals from a medium- to long-term perspective in fiscal 2023 and incorporate strategies into our action plans. Ultimately, we aim to “Achieve a Recycling-Oriented Society” and to “Achieve a Society that is in Harmony with Nature” by minimizing burdens on nature by reducing the waste generated during product life cycles to near-zero.
