Communicating with Local Communities

Fuji Electric France S.A.S. has been proactively supporting employee-led volunteer firefighting activities since 2021. In November 2024, this commitment was renewed by the Prefecture of Puy-de-Dôme, reaffirming Fuji Electric France's status as a Partner Company of Firefighters. Maxime Goigoux, a volunteer firefighter and assembly workshop technician who attended the ceremony, says, “This firefighting activity has given me a sense of mission and ambition that I want to apply in my work!”

On October 20, 2024, Fuji Electric (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. celebrated Deepavali, the Hindu New Year festival, at a local elementary school with underprivileged children from the community. About 100 people joined the event, including employees, children and their families, and teachers. We donated gifts to the children and festival food to their families. There were also wonderful performances by the children, including traditional Indian dancing and choral singing, which made the event lively.

On October 15, 2024, a total of 25 people from Fuji Electric Corp. of America’s New Jersey Office participated in a local walking event to raise awareness of breast cancer. Dressed in matching T-shirts with a pink ribbon motif, they enjoyed chatting with their colleagues while walking under clear autumn skies. We hope that this event will help to improve our employees’ health and raise awareness of breast cancer.

On July 31, 2024, Fuji Bridex Taiwan donated bedding and other essential goods to a children’s home in Taichung, Taiwan. This facility provides education for orphans and children who cannot live with their families, as well as a safe space for them to spend time. Children are our future, and we are grateful to be able to do something meaningful to support them. Going forward, we intend to continue to contribute to the achievement of a sustainable society by implementing Fuji Electric’s Corporate Philosophy.

France celebrates Fête de la Musique (Music Day) on June 21, and the Ministry of Culture has been organizing a music　event to celebrate for more than 40 years. Employees from Fuji Electric France S.A.S. participate in this event every year to celebrate the coming of summer in conjunction with the summer solstice.
A successful acoustic concert for the band led by our Quality Service Technician, delivered a unique performance at a facility for people with disabilities in Chignat. For the first time, the group played in front of such an audience, transforming their usual French rock concert, dominated by electric guitar, into an acoustic performance. The event was a resounding success, leaving the audience delighted and the musicians eager to repeat the experience.
The most French of our Japanese colleagues, and choir conductor for two ensembles, celebrated the Fête de la Musique with passion. The abbey and church echoed with sacred and secular songs, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

As part of its educational support activities, Fuji Electric Sales Philippines Inc. donated school supplies to underprivilegedchildren in the Payatas area of Quezon City. The donation event took place on May 27, 2024, and we provided the children with essential school supplies, including notebooks, pens, and other stationery as well as bags and shoes. Children are our future, and we will continue to provide support, no matter how small, so that they can enjoy learning without worrying about money.

On April 28, 2024, Fuji Electric(Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. invited 89 children from a local orphanage to celebrate Hari Raya (the post-Ramadan festival) with them. We made donations to the facility and distributed 'duit raya'(small amounts of cash in envelopes) to the children. It was a joyful party, featuring an amazing musical performance by the children. A variety of traditional dishes were served, and it was a good time for everyone.

As part of its community outreach activities, Hokkaido Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. participated in the Sapporo City Chuo Ward Road Environment Beautification Activity. In this initiative, local companies cooperate with the local government for road cleanup and other volunteer activities. On October 17, 2024, after a signing ceremony at the Chuo Ward Office, about 30 employees cleaned up the area around the company. We will continue to actively contribute to local communities in cooperation with local governments.

At Hokkaido Area Operation, the manager and 10 employees volunteered to clean up Nitobe Inazo Memorial Park as part of their community outreach program. On October 5, 2024, a fine autumn day, we picked up a lot of trash in the park and many visitors expressed appreciation to us. Parks in Sapporo City are maintained and managed through park cleanup by local residents. Going forward, we will continue this activity and contribute to the local community.

On August 17, 2024, Fuji CAC Joint Stock Company participated in a cleanup event organized by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City and picked up trash at Saigon Zoo. In addition to keeping the zoo clean, another objective of the activity is to raise the environmental awareness of future generations, considering that so many children visit the zoo. We will continue to proactively participate in activities like this and contribute to the achievement of a sustainable society.

On July 11, 2024, Fuji Electric Asia Pacific Pte.Ltd. held a gardening activity together with City Sprout, an urban farm located on Henderson Road in Singapore, and about 30 employees participated. They were divided into groups for planting and pruning, and gained a lot of experience working with plants. We hope that this activity will contribute to urban greening and l ead to the achi evement of a sustai nabl e society.

On May 25, 2024, Fuji Electric Motor (Dalian) Co., Ltd. conducted a cleanup activity on Bangchuidao Island, a tourist attraction in Dalian. A total of 320 of our employees joined the event. To reduce CO2 emissions, we used public transportation to travel to Bangchuidao Island. To achieve a sustainable society, we will continue to conduct environmental protection activities as well as to provide products that contribute to a decarbonized society.

On March 30, 2024, ChubuArea Operation held a cleanup of Shonai Ryokuchi Park in Nagoya City as part of its CSR activities. A total of 79 people participated, including employees of the Area Operation and their families. All the participants worked together to pick up trash, and then enjoyed a quiz, mini games, and a barbecue. The event was fun, and the participants built closer relationships. We intend to continue our community outreach activities in the future.

On October 12, 2024, Yamanashi factory held a factory festival to express our gratitude to our employees and their families and to give back to the community. Many people participated, including local residents, considering that it was the first factory festival since the factory was reopened as a semiconductor base. The venue was full of excitement, with work experience, craft classes, refreshment booths, a live comedy show, prize raffles, and more. I’ll be looking forward to next year’s event as I work hard every day!

Fuji Electric Tsugaru Semiconductor Co., Ltd. held a factory festival on September 21, in 2024. We exhibited products including power semiconductors and a skeletonized vending machine and held a workshop for participants to make nameplates using a laser processing machine. We also set up a simulated manufacturing floor using images from a clean room. The festival also had food trucks, a lion dance performance by local elementary school children, and a live concert by a local idol. It was a day full of fun and smiles for more than 500 participants, including employees, their families, and local residents.

On August 23, 2024, the annual Fuji Electric Community Festival was held at the Tokyo Factory, and about 7,000 people participated, including employees, their families, and local residents! It was a very successful event with a kid’s area, a comedy show, and refreshment booths, and it was a great opportunity for employees and local residents to socialize.
