 Fuji Electric has recently released the VC-V20A-1 switchgear with a reduced footprint. The product is applicable with IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standard and is marketed globally, mainly in Southeast Asia.

2. Features

1)Optimized the insulation structure to reduce the footprint by 20%

 Switchgears are subject to high voltage, and it is necessary to maintain a certain distance (insulation distance) between the charging parts to prevent short circuits. Fuji Electric has adopted a shielding structure by using its unique analysis technology and optimized the shape of the charging parts and insulators to reduce the insulation distance. This allows for a smaller housing, successfully reducing the footprint by 20% compared with previous models. This has achieved industry-leading* space saving.

2)Revised the hot gas treatment method to increase installation location flexibility

 If a short circuit accident occurs in a switchgear, arc discharge will generate high-temperature, high-pressure gas (hot gas). Because this hot gas is extremely dangerous, a duct must be installed to release it outside the building. However, potential locations for switchgears are limited in chemical plants and other facilities due to the risk of ignition of flammable gas. This product has a cooling structure in the exhaust part, which allows hot gas to be cooled in the panel, eliminating the need to release gas outside the building. This has made the installation location more flexible.
