Benefit 1 :Safety certification

With a burning point of 360°C (and a flash point of 330°C), the flame-retardant fluid offers high safety against fire and contributes to the reduction of ancillary equipment for fire protection and fire extinction.
Excellent flame retardant

Natural esters have a burning point of 360°C (and a flash point of 330°C). This flame-retardant fluid has a burning point higher than that of conventional mineral oil by more than 200°C. It is ideal for transformers such as those used in industrial plants, data centers, and hydroelectric power plants, for which high environmental performance is sought.

Safety certification

Natural ester (FR3® Fluid) has been demonstrated to be safe through arc ignition and fire tests that simulate transformer fires. The ester has been granted FM (Note 1) and UL (Note 2) certifications, which are third-party certifications.

Stable supply of resources

Soybeans, the resource from which the natural ester (FR3® Fluid) is derived, boast high yields and production (cultivation) areas (Note). The supply is stable, so you can rest assured that you will have access to the ester that you need.

Benefit 2 :Environmental protection

Because the ester is biodegradable and non-toxic, the environmental impact is reduced even in cases of insulation oil leaks.
Reduced environmental impact due to high biodegradability

The ester is natural, highly biodegradable (Note), and non-toxic. Even in the event of a leakage of insulating oil, the environmental impact is minimized.

Significant reductions in CO₂ emissions

Because natural esters absorb CO₂ during soybean growth and consume less energy during oil production, CO₂ emissions during the life cycle from production to disposal are about 2% of those of mineral oil.
