Laser Gas Analyzer

To comply with the sulfur limits set forth in Annex VI of the MARPOL Convention, exhaust gas monitoring is essential. In line with the provisions of the EGCS guidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), an increasing number of ships are equipped with continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS). This page outlines the outstanding features of laser gas analyzers used in ship scrubbers for in-situ monitoring of exhaust gases.
Features
Compact Size

We have succeeded in reducing the size to approx. 1/10 of the infrared type. Therefore, it can be easily installed even in a narrow space inside a ship. It is suitable for either the retrofit of existing in-service ships or new ships.
Low Running Cost

Compared to infrared gas analyzers, the maintenance cost can be reduced to less than 1/2 because the number of replacement parts is small and its calibration is required only once a year or two.
Easy Maintenance

User maintenance requires only filter replacement. As the number of parts to be replaced periodically is approximately 50% compared to infrared gas analyzers, replacement requires low workload and can be took in short period of time.
Flexible Installation and Low Running Cost

Fuji Electric's laser gas analyzers for ship scrubbers consist of three units: a detection unit, a relay box, and a sampling unit. The detection unit and relay box can be installed on any wall.
Furthermore, the low number of replacement parts contributes to reduced running costs, and routine maintenance is limited to filter replacement.
Compact Size

As part of the world’s smallest exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS), our laser gas analyzer for ship scrubbers is one-tenth the size of existing sampling analyzers (according to in-house comparisons). The space-saving design gives these analyzers a major advantage over conventional products, making them suitable for both retrofitting on existing ships and installation on new vessels.
