Ken'ichi Kurotani, Masamoto Takano
Practical use of advanced control including artificial intelligence is increasing in the fields of process control, factory automation and mechatronics. The AWS aims to raise efficiency in engineering work for these applications. The workstation mounts a "software package for total control system design" which mean expert control and conventional control based on mathematical models. Its multiwindow system, interactive processing in Japanese menus, and graphics output facilitate modeling of control objects, control design, and structuring of knowledge bases.
Instrumentation Systems for Industrial Thermal Power Plants
Hiroaki Muranishi, Yuji Matsuzaki
Thermal power generation, a main energy supply for industrial circles, has been much affected by energy-source situation change after the oil shock and economical situation change due to strong yen. On the other hand, as digital technology remarkably progressed in recent years, advanced-function, high-reliability digital control equipment has come to wide use. Also thermal power plants have actively introduced it, resulting in rationalization to cope with threes situation changes.
The paper describes technical trends of instrumentation systems in industrial thermal power plants and their applications.
