Technical Trends of Magnetic Switches and the Development of the New SC Series

The market for general purpose control devices, centered about electronic devices, is advancing tremendously to meet the demand of FA. Electronic devices are becoming smaller and more advanced and are changing considerably with the application of microelectronic technology.
In step with this, coordination of magnetic switches with electronic devices is demanded and market needs are also becoming more diverse. The new small magnetic switches SC series aimmed at the following was developed to meet this demand. (1) Flexibly diverse needs, (2) internationalization of specifications and higher performance, (3) coordination with electronic devices, (4) pursuit of ease of use and safety.
Long Life, Advanced Function New Small Contactors SC Series

Recently, the demand for improvement of the reliability and serviceability of contactors and for long life and advanced functions to meet multiple applications for more complex and higher performance systems is increasing.
The new SC contactors developed this time, are products which pursue long life, advanced functions, greater of ease of use, etc. and have the following main features; (1) Electrical life (class AC3 2,000,000 times), (2) high reliability auxiliary contacts (DC5V 3mA application possible), (3) easy maintenance and inspection, (4) cope with multifunctionalization by means of abundant options, (5) conform the main standards of the world as standard.
High Reliability, Advanced Functions New Type Industrial Relay SH Series

The demand for improved contact reliability, advanced functions to cope with multiple applications, improved ease use, etc. of industrial relays is becoming stronger for the electronification of the control field and the increasing complexity and sophistication of systems in recent years.
The new SH series developed this time are products which meet these demands and have the following features: (1) improved contact reliability, (DC 5V 3mA application possible), (2) cope with multi-functionalization by abundant option units, (3) greater ease of use, (4) conform to the main standards of the world as standard.
High Precision and Advanced Functions New Small Thermal Relay TR Series

Thermal relays are combined with magnetic contactors and are used together with the automation and labor saving devices of various facilities as motor burnout protection devices. In recent years, production systems have become larger and more complex and motor trouble has a large affect on the system and farther improvement of the reliability of protection is desired.
New small thermal relays with improved protection reliability, high reliability 1a1b contacts, smaller width, various functions, abundant option units, etc. have been developed based on many years of experience to meet such market needs. These new thermal relays are outlined and their features are introduced.
Option Units which Increase the Functions of Magnetic Switches and Application Types

The new SC series magnetic switches have been given a wider range of applications by improvements from the standpoint of construction and performance and multifunctionalization by means of various options which meet divers needs. This time, a counter unit, main circuit surge suppression unit, coil surge suppression unit, coil drive unit, and other abundant options, including an auxiliary contacts unit which allows expansion of 2 pole and 4 pole contacts with one touch, have been developed.
Improvement from the standpoint of circulation and procurement and completion of the series have been planned by unitizing the reversible type, mechanical latch type, and other application types.
High-Sensitivity Contactors "SJ-0G Series"

Since the SJ-OG type high-sensitivity contactors, in which a low power consumption coil was realized by adopting high efficiency polarized magnets (permanent magnet built-in), are capable of being driven directly by programmable controllers (PC) and electronic sensing devices and other semiconductor outputs and have numerous features, they have obtained favorable comment ever since they were placed on sale.
This time, (1) reversing type, (2) auxiliary contacts addition type, (3) indicator lamp type, etc. have been serialized, in addition to the basic type. These series are outlined and their features are introduced.
Solid-State Contectors

The high frequency switching, long life, maintenance-free operation, and other features of the solid-state contactor (SSC) SS series, which uses semiconductor elements at the switching section, have been utilized and they have been widely used in motors and motor control ever since they were placed on sale in 1985. At this time, a low capacity type (200V 8A) and type with internal trouble detection function (200V 20-40A) have been newly commercialized as strong market demand SSC.
Power control units using a cycle control system perfect for power control of heaters has also been commercialized as an option product. These units are outlined and their features are introduced.
Effective Use and Maintenance and Inspection which Increase the Reliability of Magnetic Switches

The life of magnetic switches reaches its limit by breakdown electrical and mechanical stress and environmental stress which is received in long-term installation and use which perform future functions by load switching and powering. From the standpoint of actual use, these causes are intertwined. The deterioration mechanism is extremely complex. Suitable maintenance and inspection extends the effective product life and is important in improving the reliability of the installation.
Maintenance and inspection of the contacts, core, and coil, which are the main items from the standpoints of transportation, storage, and maintenance, versus the usage environment are described.
Subminiature Card Relay RB1

Printed circuit boad relays are superior in (1) input-output isolation, (2) contact on-off resistance ratio, (3) noise resistance, (4) cost, etc. Their coexistence with semiconductor parts is being advanced by utilizing these features. In the advance toward higher reliability and smaller size of various equipment, the demand for relays which are smaller, more sensitive, and have a higher input-output isolation is rising. The subminiature card relays developed this time meet these needs and have the following main features: (1) small installation are 20mm×5mm、(2) low power consumption 120mW, (3) 4.5kV input-output impulse voltage, 1.4pF input-output coupling electrostatic capacitance.
Control Switches and Indication Units for Multiple Needs

Various equipment are becoming higher performance, and more complex by the rapid advance of electronic technology and the need for operating devices and indication devices as man-machine interface devices is increasing. Regarding operating devices, high contact reliability command switches and cam switches which meet this need were developed. Moreover, regarding indication devices, indicators with decoder capable of displaying indication devices, indicators with decoder capable of displaying data and buzzer which can be head by man were developed.
The trend of flat command boards, also called command switch annunciators, is introduced as the advanced functionalization trend.
Miniature Hydro-Magnetic Circuit Protector Perfect for Electronic Devices and Equipment

In the advance toward the increased functionality and complexity of various facilities and equipment, devices and circuits are becoming more diverse with electronification. Circuit protectors (CP) matched to various applications are desired.
The CP-R type developed this time are mainly aimmed at application to the OA field, and are ideal as power switch/over-current protectors. They have a rocker operating system and feature miniature size, high reliability, U.S. and European standards approval, and abundant variations.
The features, specifications, and applications of the product are introduced.
Signal Multiplex Transmission Equipment, Fuji Remote Terminal

The Fuji remote terminal is supervisory and control level signal transmission equipment for plants, building facilities, etc. It is small and high performance signal multiplex transmission equipment which allows the realization of wiring work rationalization, system simplification, flexibility, etc. by its use.
It is currently being widely used in many fields due to its abundant variations and wide applicability. Type completion and expansion is being performed to meet the needs of the expanding market. The standard remote terminal and newly developed types are introduced.
