The Present State and Trend of Electronics Applied to Control and Distribution Apparatus
Yoshinosuke Arai, Masayoshi Mitani
Electronics has made great contribution to higher reliability, higher functions, and energy saving in the automation and systematization of apparatus in factories and buildings. It is showing a tendency to be adopted positively in control apparatus playing an important role at the interface of man-machine or machine-machine, and also in general-use distribution apparatus indispensable to stable supply of electric power.
This paper outlines the state and trend of development in electronics and its coordination in Fuji Electric's control and distribution apparatus.
Flat Command Switch for PW Boards and Flat Command Board
Hideo Kume, Mitsuo Nishio
Due to too wide application of electronics for control circuits, normal control switches could not cope with some fields. Control switches for printed wiring boards were increasingly requested because the higher function and power saving of the control circuit and the smaller and thinner control panels promoted utilization of printed wiring boards. This paper outlines the PBS for printed wiring boards model AB12 and AB12C based on the technological knowledge of the control switch gained in years.
Indicator Lights and Terminal Blocks
Hideo Kume, Ryoichi Omiya
The demand of the market on indicator lights and terminal blocks has been changed so as to cope with the application of electronics to various machines and equipment.
Indicator lights are requiring higher reliability in addition to improvement pursued attaching importance to energy saving and maintenance-free. We have developed the indicator light using LED.
As for connecting material, we have developed terminal blocks on printed circuit boards, terminal blocks with connector on one side and screw terminal on the other side, etc.
This paper introduces their outline and features.
High-sensitivity Contactors "SJ-0G"
Isao Murayama, Takato Hirota, Akihiro Takahashi
The application of electronics in control systems, such as the use of programmable controllers (PC) and electronic detectors, requirement small, energy saving contactors. Adopting polarized magnets of high efficiency (incl. built-in permanent magnets), the newly developed high-sensitivity contactor is of a loss-saving type consuming only 500mW (1/10 to 1/20 compared with old types), and is capable to be driven directly by semiconductor output of electron devices. The main features are as follows: (1)Motor rating:AC220V/400V,2.2kW (2)Mechanical/Electrical life :more than 10million/0.25million times (3)Built-in surge-absorbing function (4)Highly reliable auxiliary contacts (5)Standardized rail mounting (6)Safety covers attached.
Solid-state Contactors
Masahide Ishikawa, Junzo Tanaka, Tomio Shimizu
The solid-state contactors (SSC) SS series aiming at highly frequent switching long life and maintenance-free have gained popularity. This time, a large capacity model(220V,80A), a high rated voltage model(440V,30 to 50A), and an independently operational pole model suitable for heater control have been serialized, and also reversible operation units for motors and fault-detecting units for detecting a shout or an open circuit failure have been commercialized as optional units, which will cope with wider usage. This paper introduces their features, performances and coordination of overload protection, precautions to be observed in the application to motor loads, capacitor loads and so on.
Circuit Protectors for Electronic Equipment
Hideo Hayashi, Hidekazu Yamaguchi
The circuit protector Model CP30E and CP30V have been developed for electronic equipment in OA fields. The main features are as follows:
(1) Acquisition of qualification by foreign standards (UL, CSA, and VDE)
(2) Thin construction designed originally by Fuji Electric
(3) Variations applicable to various loads
This paper introduces the outline of the product as well as the technical trend (safety standards) and application technique.
Series of Solid-state Timers and Counters
Okito Fukushima, Shoji Sasaki, Takao Yamasaki
Many timers and counters are used in various industries as control devices for automation and power saving, and the demand of the market has diversified.
Fuji Electric has developed and serialized its characteristic electronic timers and counters making the most use of its electronic technology and microcomputer application technique.
This paper introduces the outline and features of these series and gives a description of the new products.
Signal Multiplex Transmission Equipment, Fuji Remote Terminal
Shigeo Kawashima, Shunsuke Shikano
Fuji Remote Terminals make mutual transmission of signals between dispersedly located terminals possible, by connecting a number of terminals with common signal wires. Its merits are as follows: (1)Saving of transmission wires. Expenditure and work time for wiring are reduced and miswiring is also prevented. (2)Easy changing of transmission objects. Only addressing change is needed and wiring change is not needed. This time, by repletion of high-speed transmission types using optical fibre and computer interfaces,
its application range has been much expanded (for example, application to FA system).
Programmabule Controller, MICREX-F50
Tokutaro Shimbo, Yutaka Aoyama, Kazuhiro Fujita
Progurammable controller (PC) MICREX-F100/200 series has been well-received, because hierarchical systems and decentralized control systems can be composed effectively. As the simplified one of F100/200, MICREX-F50 series is developed and completed with the same design concept and architecture. This small PC with excellent cost performance keeps the features of F100/200series, such as high speed, high function and network accommodation.
Noise Cut Isolation Transformers, TRAFY
Kizen Sakaki, Msaaki Fuzimaki
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise problems have become important with widespreading employment of various electron devices and electronic apparatus. These electron devices generate EMI noise more or less, and on the other hand are suffered by EMI noise. Fuji Electric developed Noise Cut Isolation Transformer TRAFY, which prevents such EMI noise trouble. TRAFY is a power source transformer having noise-absorbing function, and useful for business machines(computers, OA machines), industrial robots and NC machines. This paper introduces its specifications and applications.
Power Filters
Kizen Sakaki, Msaaki Fujimaki
As control devices of induction motors, inverters have become widespread. For such inverters, high function and small size have been pursued. The inverter consists of a large number or electronic parts, and then electromagnetic interference(EMI) noise problems have been highlighted. Fuji Electric developed a device to cut EMI noise of inverters, "Power Filter". This paper introduces its features, specifications and applications.
