October 1, 2014 – Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (TSE:6504) ("FE"), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and led by President Michihiro Kitazawa, is pleased to announce the establishment of the local Fuji Electric Service Desk for the expansion of the Asian business.
To achieve the FY 2015 mid-term management plan, we are pushing ahead with strengthening the overseas business foundation with the focus on Asia, which is enjoying ongoing economic growth.
In Asia, we invested in a major transformer manufacturer in Thailand to establish Fuji Tusco Co., Ltd. last October and strengthen the electrical transformation business. In December, we launched a new factory (Fuji Electric Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd.), which is mainly intended to produce power electronics devices, as the core manufacturing site in Asia. In addition, we are working on enhancing a local engineering and service system for capturing replacement demand, which is expected to increase along with the aging of facilities.
Establishing the Fuji Electric Service Desk is aimed at improving the service system for the products we deliver, strengthening the capability of after-sales service proposals by having centralized management of information and speeding up responses to failures and customer demand. We intend to accelerate the expansion of the Asian business with local and self-contained business operations.
