Fuji Electric has developed a direct liquid cooling thin IGBT module for the powertrains of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.
By utilizing an aluminum-based cooling unit that integrates a liquid cooling fin and cover, as well as a reverse conducting IGBT that layouts IGBT regions and FWD regions in alternate arrangement on a single chip, we were able to achieve a thin and compact module that contributes to make inverters thin and compact.
The IGBT region comes equipped with a current detection terminal and temperature detection terminal, enabling reliable protection during times of short circuit and overheating.

E: IGBT emitter terminal
A: Anode terminal of temperature detection diode
K: Cathode terminal of temperature detection diode
S: Current detection terminal
P: Collector voltage detection terminal
