Production shop floor workers use data like equipment operation rates and energy usage to improve productivity, save energy, and ensure stable operation of equipment. Programmable operation displays (see below) are one of the products used to manage such data.
With equipment and devices becoming more sophisticated in recent years, we are seeing an increase in the amount and types of data that can be used to improve productivity and ensure stable equipment operation, resulting in a growing need for compatible programmable operation displays.
To meet this need, FE has recently launched the TS4000 Series, which features a high-definition wide-screen monitor and enhanced communication functions with external terminals as compared to conventional products. The TS4000 Series will be rolled out in Japan and overseas.
About programmable operation displays
A programmable operation display is a touchscreen monitor that can be attached to machine tools and other processing machines to collect information from control devices like PLCs* and inverters, as well as measurement equipment, to measure temperature and pressure and also to display the operation status of the devices. For example, workers can use this information to detect problems and signs of abnormalities during processing and take measures to ensure stable equipment operation.

For programmable operation displays, users are increasingly selecting wide-screen monitors in order to display more information. Given this, the TS4000 Series includes four types of wide-screen monitors ranging from 7 to 15.6 inches. A 12.1-inch wide-screen monitor can display about three times more information than a 10.4-inch square monitor.
This product also has enhanced network functions, allowing simultaneous access by up to 10 external devices, like tablets and smartphones, for remote equipment operation and operation status confirmation. It is also VPN-compatible so users can connect to an encrypted and secure environment for remote operation.
