2. Major Revisions

(1) MJ2 setting for PLC communications with UG230A-DCL mounted to the UG230

MJ2 can now be selected as the PLC communications port setting when the UG230A-DCL expansion unit is mounted to the UG230.

(2) UG30A-VIS video image edge enhancing display mode added

A function has been added to enhance the edges of text or graphics that are superimposed onto video images in order to provide images with sharper contour delineation.

(3) I/O monitor bit No. display for Mitsubishi Q-series ladder monitor function

A bit No. display has been added to the I/O monitor binary display of the Mitsubishi Q-series ladder monitor function.

(4) DEC/BCD selection added to temperature control network/PLC 2-way setting

A DEC/BCD selection has been added to the previous DEC fixed setting for the temperature control memory.

(5) Recipe file data acquisition macro added

A recipe file data acquisition macro (GET_RECIPE_FILEINFO) has been added to simplify the retrieval of line and column numbers for designated files with the POD.

(6) MODICON Modbus RTU MultiLink setting disabled

This setting has been disabled because MultiLink connection using the PLC Modbus RTU manufactured by Schneider (MODICON) is not possible, but the setting can be erroneously made with the editor.

(7) PLCs with ladder transfer function added

A delete switch has been added to the transfer menu of the local screen card menu that makes it possible to delete all of the data in a FAT-formatted CF card.

A JPEG search switch with a flexible increment/decrement value setting has been added. A function to output the presently displayed JPEG file No. to memory has also been added.

The UG230 MJ1 and MJ2 ports can be used for connection with the Mitsubishi MELSEC-A series. Use the UG230C-M* cable. Connection with the Keyence KZ-A500 CPU (via RS-422) is also possible.

(b) UG230 series USB-HUB compatibility

The UG230 series can be connected to a third-party USB-HUB. This allows simultaneous use of an USB-connected printer and USB-connected CF card recorder. (Simultaneous connection of two USB printers or two USB CF card recorders is not possible.)

4. Compatibility with Conventional Products

Compatibility of screen data is shown below.

Screen data incorporating any functions of the new version cannot be used by earlier versions of the screen programming software.

5. Upgrade Procedure

(1)	Create a new folder in any location of the PC's hard disk.
(2)	Download the V3.2.16.0 update file (UGUpdate.exe) to the new folder.
(3)	Double-click the update file (self-extracting compressed file).
(4)	Files are extracted in the folder.
(5)	Among the extracted files, double-click the setup.exe in the "UGUpdate_e" folder.
(6)	Install the software according to the installer's instructions.
(7)	When the installation procedure is completed, activate UG00S and make sure the version number has been updated to V3.2.16.0 using the Help menu. If V3.2.16.0 is displayed, installation has completed successfully.

6. Notes on Upgrade

(1)	Install the update file to the PC in which UG00S-3W/3 WE/CW is installed.
(2)	The update file can be used only when the version of UG00S-3W/3 WE/CW already installed is V2.0.0.0 or later.
(3)	If the size of the update file differs from that of the downloaded file, discard the file and download it again.
(4)	The update file does not include Gothic font files, 3D Parts files, and English Gothic and Times font files. If you are using UG00S-3W/3WE (V2.3 or earlier), you need to download and install Gothic font files and 3D Parts file in addition to the update file. (If you are using UG00S-CW, you can skip this procedure.)
(5)	The update file includes the main program and I/F drivers for PLC.
