FRENIC4600 Series Medium-voltage direct output inverters Restart capability after momentary power interruption

The operation processing pattern to be taken in the event of a voltage drop due to a momentary power interruption can be selected according to your application needs.

Selection of major fault status response

The inverter is stopped with a major fault status and the motor is set in a free-run state.

Selection of restart in free-run state (Option)

The inverter operation is stopped and the motor is set in a free-run state. Upon power recovery, the motor is decelerated in the free-run state or is stopped and then automatically accelerated again by means of a speed search function.

Selection of continued operation (Option)

The inverter operation is continued without setting the motor in a free-run state even in the event of a voltage drop due to a momentary power interruption.
(The motor operating speed is decelerated during the momentary power interruption.)
As soon as the power supply voltage is recovered, the motor is accelerated again back to the operating speed.

Time chart of continued operation

Time chart of continued operation

*1

The voltage drop due to a momentary power interruption will be detected when it occurs at 85% or less of the rated voltage.

*2

Operation can be continued within 300 ms after a voltage drop due to a momentary power interruption.
Durations of longer than 300ms will require the additional installation of an uninterruptible power supply system or other countermeasures for the control power supply.
