The 132nd Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of Fuji Electric Holdings Co., Ltd. was held on June 24, 2008 (Tuesday) at 10.00 a.m.
Fuji Electric considers its General Meeting of Shareholders, which is legally defined as the highest decision-making body within the company, to be an essential component of its investor relations activities. The meeting serves to deepen shareholdersă»understanding of proposed business policy, and provides a valuable opportunity for the Company to hear shareholdersă»opinions directly. In selecting the location and date of the meeting the Company aims to encourage as many people as possible to attend.
The meeting was attended by 441 shareholders—the highest number ever—and shareholders expressed their opinions and wishes freely. All the proposals were passed without amendment, with approximately 80% of all voting rights exercised, including voting rights exercised prior to the meeting. During the presentation about the Fuji Electric Group's business policy held after the meeting, President and Representative Director Haruo Ito gave a presentation, which stimulated a lively response in terms of questions and opinions from the audience.
