As worldwide response to tackling climate change and other global issues gains momentum, we have positioned initiatives to protect the global environment as a key management challenge, and based on our Environmental Policy we are striving to achieve a sustainable, recycling-oriented society. In particular, we recognize the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from our businesses, the strengthening of renewable energy initiatives, and our contribution to resource recycling as urgent matters to address, and are therefore promoting the relevant measures.
Environmental Policy
As an general facilities company with excellent environmental performance, we recognize the importance of social responsibility. Protection of the global environment is one of our important management challenges, and our actions toward the realization of a sustainable, recycling-based society are based on the following.
- We endeavor to continuously reduce our impact on the environment and to prevent pollution.
- We strictly comply with legal requirements applicable to the environmental aspects of our business and other requirements to which we have agreed.
- We promote environmental conservation activities such as energy efficiency, resource efficiency, reduction of waste, recycling, etc., in order to reduce the environmental load generated by our business activities.
- We provide environmentally friendly technologies that contribute to a low carbon society.
Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System
Safety, Quality, and the Environment are of the utmost importance and closely related to each other, and we have therefore built an integrated management system. The Central Safety and Health Committee and the Quality and Environmental Promotion Committee , both of which are led by the President, are responsible for discussing reports and implementation issues . The details of these discussions are communicated to all employees via the Safety, Quality, and Environmental Promotion Subcommittee.

Environmentally Friendly Installation Work
Aiming to contribute to the achievement of a decarbonized society, we are engaged in environmentally friendly business management. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions from construction sites, we are joining installation projects that use renewable energy and proposing equipment systems with outstanding energy efficiency, for example.
Further Entry into Decarbonization and Renewable Energy Construction Projects

Using our ability to provide a comprehensive range of solutions from planning and design to construction, as well as our accumulated technological expertise in power transmission-related construction projects, we are stepping up efforts to join construction projects related to decarbonization. Looking at our track record to date, we have joined a diverse range of projects mainly for power companies, who play a key role in supporting our essential lifelines. These projects have involved solar, wind, and biomass power generation equipment and offshore wind power generation equipment.
Energy Efficient Equipment Proposals
With renewable energy such as cold outside air, as well as unused energy such as wastewater, there are many energy sources with huge potential all around us. Through the creation of systems that can effectively use and optimally control these energy sources, we can respond to customers’ diverse needs and in turn contribute to the achievement of a decarbonized society.
Environmentally Friendly Procurement
Aiming to address and improve the increasingly serious environmental issues we face, we strive to engage in green procurement, which prioritizes materials and equipment with low environmental impact, and procurement that leads to waste reduction.
Toward Green Procurement
As we work toward a sustainable society with low environmental impact, where possible we make every effort to choose environmentally friendly products in our purchasing activities. In the Green Procurement Guidelines we established in December 2022, we specify four priority items* among the construction materials and equipment we frequently purchase which contribute or significantly help to reduce environmental impact. Through procurement of these priority items we are working to ensure environmentally friendly procurement. Moving forward, in addition to furthering understanding of our green procurement activities among our business partners , we will flexibly cater to legal reforms, technological development, and customers’ needs.

Use of Recycled Office Furniture

When changing office layouts, we aim to reduce waste and create office environments using recycled goods by reusing unwanted furniture and sourcing used furniture when procuring new items. Moreover, we have reduced the number of cabinets by approximately 50% by promoting the digitization of our stored documents, using the newly available areas as meeting spaces. Doing so has helped to enhance operational efficiency and improve employee motivation.
Other Environmentally Friendly Initiatives
From a solar-based power generation and sales business to initiatives in our everyday activities, we are promoting a range of measures to reduce our environmental impact.
Promotion of Paperless Environments

By enhancing our use of IT tools through the provision of computers, smartphones, and tablets to employees, from an early stage we have promoted the digitization of stored documents into PDFs, thoroughly reduced use of paper, used electronic data interchange orders with our business partners, and transitioned to use of electronic contracts. Looking ahead, we will aim to transform awareness among our employees to further reduce use of paper.
Renewable Energy-based Electricity Sales Business
(Fuji Electric Cosmos Energy Ltd.)

Nasukarasuyama Solar Power Station
In September 2014 we established Fuji Electric Cosmos Energy Ltd., and since then we have operated a solar-based electricity sales business from the Oyama Solar Power Station (Tochigi Prefecture) and three other locations.*1 Together these power stations generate 6,593,058 kWh per year*2 (enough annual power for 1,580 regular homes*3). In these and other ways we are promoting renewable energy businesses.

*2In FY2023
*3Based on the calculation that a single regular household uses 4,175 kWh per year on average. Annual average data has been taken from the Ministry of the Environment’s “Household Energy Consumption FY2021”
