Fuji Electric Releases Large-Capacity Uninterruptible Power Systems 7000HX-T3U for North American Market

 Tokyo, August 3, 2015- Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (TSE:6504), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, led by President Michihiro Kitazawa, is pleased to announce the release of 7000HX-T3U, large-capacity uninterruptible power system ("UPS") Having successfully achieved UL certification which illustrates conformity with North American safety standards, to reinforce the power supply business in North America.

1 .Background

 As information systems become increasingly cloud-based and data centers expand globally, demand for UPSs as backup power systems to deal with power outages is also increasing. North America is the largest market for UPS systems, accounting for over 20% of the worldwide market with an expected annual growth rate of approximately 3%*.
 Fuji Electric has developed the UPS 7000HX-T3U, for use in the North America. Designed to operate at 480 VAC and featuring the highest efficiency rating in the industry, this system is ideal for medium-to-large applications including data centers, medical imaging, and other mission critical facilities, offering significant energy savings.

2 .Product Features Include:

(1)Superior Efficiency Rating for Optimal Energy Savings

Fuji Electric’s proprietary three-level power conversion circuit topology using reverse blocking IGBT (RB-IGBT) are utilized, realizing a UPS efficiency of 97.5%, among the highest in the industry. This new technology also allows for a UPS efficiency of 96.1% even under a low load (load factor 25%). The new 7000HX-T3U UPS reduces power loss and contributes to significant energy savings for customers.

(2)Conformity to North American Safety standards

The 7000HX-T3U is listed by UL to the UL1778 standard, this American safety standards developed for the purpose of protecting human life and assets from fires and other disasters.

(3)Supports Various Communication Methods and Enables

Constant Monitoring of Operation Status
A new optional card that supports Modbus has been developed and is being used as the connection method of production equipment in addition to the conventional Web/SNMP card. It provides support for a wide variety of equipment communication methods, which allows for immediate notification of failures and constant monitoring of the system during operation.
