Fuji Electric Group Publishes Sustainability Report 2008

The Fuji Electric Group, as good corporate citizen, is aiming to realize the mission of deepening relationships of trust with global society, customers and business partners.

 The Fuji Electric Group is pleased to announce today that it has published Fuji Electric Group Sustainability Report 2008. The Sustainability Report is published every year to report to stakeholders its initiatives directed toward achieving a sustainable society from the perspective of society and the environment. In the 2008 version, both groupwide and segmentwide activities are presented. In particular in environmental activities, we set a new group target of a 6% reduction in total CO2 emission volume compared with 2006 levels by 2010, in addition to reducing CO2 output per unit of production.

 The Fuji Electric Group will continue to report its activities to stakeholders on a regular basis to earn higher trust and understanding from society.

Highlights of Fuji Electric Sustainability Report 2008

・Groupwide Initiatives
 ・We set a new target of a 6% reduction in total CO2 emission volume compared with 2006 levels by 2010 (reducing approximately 10,000 tons of CO2 between 2008 and 2006) .
 ・In the section “Interplay between Business Activities and Environmental Impact”, each segment’s environmental impact characteristics, measures, and any major successes in reducing its environmental impact are presented.

・Initiatives of Individual Groups
 ・Initiatives for quality assurance and environmental protection of each segment are presented.
