- Q.Why are there many holes In your FWAVE solar modules?
- A.The holes along the edges of an FWAVE solar module are series-connection holes used to connect one unit cell with the next one in series. The holes made through unit cells are current-connection holes and carry current generated by the front ITO electrode to the connection electrode at the bottom of a solar cell.
- Q.Can holes be made larger?
- A.No, they cannot be made larger. The larger the holes are, the less power solar modules generate because larger holes reduce the size of the solar collecting surface. We have optimized the diameter of holes to obtain the maximum amount of power.
- Q.Can I cut your FWAVE modules any way I want?
- A.No. We supply solar modules in the configurations shown in our brochure.
- Q.Can your FAWVE solar modules generate electricity when it is cloudy or rainy?
- A.One of the advantages of amorphous silicon solar modules like our FWAVE solar modules is that they can absorb a wide range of wavelengths of light. Our FWAVE solar modules have two layers, top and bottom. The top layer captures short wavelengths of light and bottom layer long ones. So they can generate at least some electricity even when it is cloudy or rainy.
- Q.Do ultraviolet rays cause your FWAVE solar modules to deteriorate and affect their durability or generating efficiency?
- A.No. A highly durable material called Ethylene Tetrafluoro Ethylene (ETFE) has been used as top and bottom layers to seal the solar cell. This material has been used for along time by farmers as vinyl house coverings. Its durability has been well proven.
- Q.Can your FWAVE modules be installed on existing buildings?
- A.Yes. Because they are lightweight, they can be installed without heavy structural supports. We recommend that our FWAVE modules be affixed to materials like steel plates.
- Q.Your FWAVE solar modules are bendable. What is the bending radius?
- A.We recommend that our FWAVE solar modules be bent to a radius of not less than 1000mm. DO NOT bend them sharply or crease them.
- Q.Can I walk on the surface of your FWAVE solar modules?
- A.Yes, you can walk on them, but you need to wear clean shoes when you do so that you do not damage the surface of the solar modules.
- Q.Do your FWAVE solar modules need any maintenance?
- A.No. Our FWAVE solar modules are maintenance-free. Dire collecting on the ETFE surfaces of our FWAVE solar modules is washed away by rain. You do not need to wipe the surface of FWAVE solar modules to clean them.
