In recent years, increasing emphasis has been given to environmental consciousness in corporate activities as an effort to sustain and improve the global environment as well as that of Japan. Fuji Electric Systems has also developed a basic environmental protection policy to reduce the environmental impact at every stage in the areas of procurement, production, and disposal.
As a part of the global efforts to regulate chemical substances, the European REACH Regulation came into force in June 2007, following the momentum provided by Agenda 21 (*1) and SAICM (*2). In the end of June 2008, the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) was released, adding a full-scale development to the global efforts. In response to these developments, we have extensively revised our guidelines for contained chemical substances in our semiconductor products.
We would like to thank you in advance for your kind understanding of our new guidelines, which will be used to avert and reduce the risk of hazardous substances mixed into parts and materials and to control the amount of chemical substances, and for your continued cooperation with our green procurement activities.
