Tokyo, October 27, 2014 – Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (TSE:6504) (“FE”), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and led by President, Michihiro Kitazawa, is pleased to announce the release of a global standard temperature controller “PXF Series.”

1Background

To expand business in Asia, which is undergoing continued economic growth, we are working on sales promotion of measurement and control systems and measuring instruments that contribute to safety and security as well as energy conservation in production activities as one of our priority measures.
Temperature controllers are products integrated in all types of devices ranging from plants to production facilities and machinery of factories and used for temperature control.
The PXF Series to be released now is a series of products that has had its performance and functions significantly improved from the conventional products, and we intend to roll them out globally in places including in Asia to achieve sales of 2 billion yen in FY2016 with this series.

2Features

1) Realizes fine-tuned control to contribute to quality improvement
The input sampling period (processing speed) has been improved tenfold from the conventional models to 50 ms and the input accuracy (accuracy of the temperature information measured) has also been increased from the conventional ± 0.5% to ± 0.2%*. Fine-tuned control has been realized to help improve the quality of production and processing.

2) Offers conspicuous and high-visibility screen display
A high-viewing-angle and high-contrast LCD panel (M.V.A. LCD*) has been used and a high-visibility white color is adopted for the current temperature indication. This has led to the realization of a beautiful and sharp screen display.

3) Supports efficient operation of facilities by additional functions

  • A simple electric energy (watt-hour) monitoring function has been provided for the first time in the industry. This makes it easy to measure the power consumption of facilities to support the customer’s energy conservation.

  • The series has been equipped with an operating time alarm function. This notifies the user of the time for maintenance and inspection, facilitating preventive maintenance of facilities.

4) Contributes to size reduction of facilities with one of the industry’s smallest compact designs
The volume has been reduced by approximately 36% (depth in panel: 58 mm) from our conventional products. The compact design of the industry’s smallest class contributes to size reduction of facilities.

5) Accommodates multiple sensor inputs to contribute to inventory reduction
The series has been provided with universal input capability. Simply changing parameters makes it possible to switch between multiple sensors (thermocouple, resistance temperature sensor, voltage, current and mV), which helps to reduce the inventory of maintenance parts.
