Tokyo, January 30, 2014 - Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (TSE:6504) (“FE”), headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, led by President Michihiro Kitazawa, is pleased to announce that its Thai subsidiary started operating the new factory and changed the company name.

1. Positioning of New Factory

In pursuit of the “expansion of business in Japan and Asia” and “expansion of the industrial infrastructure, power electronics and power semiconductor businesses,” as targeted in the medium-term management plan, we are working on local design and local production for local consumption to establish a global three-base production structure with bases in Japan, China and other parts of Asia.
In Thailand, we have Fuji Electric Power Supply (Thailand) Co., Ltd., our subsidiary manufacturing uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs). We recently constructed a new factory and positioned the company as a core production base for products including devices that apply power electronics for the Asian and Western markets. Accompanying this factory, we changed the company name to Fuji Electric Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (FMT).

With the operation of this factory, FMT aims to achieve sales of 29 billion yen in FY2015 (FY2012 result: 2.9 billion yen).
