By establishing a local operating base,
FCS to respond to rapidly growing demands for FA equipment in India

Fuji Electric FA Components & Systems Co., Ltd. (FCS) (President: Mitsunori Shirakura) has announced today that it founded the India branch of Fuji Electric FA Singapore Private Ltd. (President: Yoshinori Ichimura) in May 2007 and commenced its operation. This is a first to set up an operating site in India for Fuji Electric Group.

In India, the factory automation (FA) market has been growing very rapidly as many Japanese, European and US affiliated manufactures have aggressively made inroads into Indian market. One of FCS's goal set in its mid-term management plan ending fiscal 2008 is to be a part of the leading business group in Asia. To extend its business reach into India is one of the key measures to achieve this goal. FCS conventionally conducted its business for Indian market based in Singapore through distributors but it was urgently required to build its own sales network in India to capture precise market needs. As the stepping-stone to this end, FCS established the India branch in Mumbai and started its operation. Following this opening, new offices are also planned to be opened in New Deli and Chennai.

Fuji Electric FA Singapore Private Ltd. India (Mumbai) branch will sell overall FA equipment used for automation, systematization, and energy savings at production site, including inverters, servomotors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), programmable operation displays, low-voltage circuit breakers, and contactors. The India branch will also offer variety of pre- and after-sales services such as engineering service. Targeting elevator and cotton-spinning companies, different device makers and Japanese affiliated firms; the India branch is planning to achieve 15 billion yen of sales in 2009.
