![]() Fuji Electric Group has striven to incorporate environmental protection activities into its business operations so that we can address various issues such as the prevention of global warming, the development of a recycling-oriented society, and the conservation of biodiversity. In 2006, the Japanese government formulated its third basic plan for the environment. The government's vision is to cultivate greater integration of environmental concerns with socioeconomic issues so that we can create a rich and diverse environment and healthy society for future generations to inherit. Our new medium-term environmental plan targets (covering the period from April 2006 to March 2009) take into account the government's published priorities. In addition to the continued effort to reduce environmental impact of our manufacturing plants, we will strive to achive lower environmental impact from a global perspective by taking entire product life cycles into consideration. Other key aims are to expand our lineup of eco-friendly products and to promote effective environmental communications. In these ways we hope to make a valuable contribution to society and to fulfill our responsibilities as a corporate citizen.
