![]() Supporting Customers’Production OperationsThe Energy & Electric Systems Group got a new start in 2008 by merging Fuji Electric Systems (FES) and the Control and Drive Systems Division and the Power Supplies Division of Fuji Electric FA Components & Systems (FCS). Prior to the merger, the Energy & Electric Systems Group pursued infrastructure development through the supply of electrical machinery for industrial and power plant systems in Japan and overseas. The new Energy & Electric Systems Group will integrate component equipment that supports the operation and safety of automated factory production lines and intelligent buildings, key technologies of FCS and, in particular, its ED&C components business. This integration of technologies will allow it to focus on increasing support for its customers’ safe and stable use of systems and equipment as well as improve quality and productivity in the manufacturing process. Stable Power and Industrial Infrastructure Operations and Contributions to Zero Environmental ImpactWe support our customers with a stable supply of energy and equipment operations by providing thermal and hydraulic power generation equipment as well as monitoring and controlling devices and systems for electric power and industrial infrastructure. Internationally, we have a proven track record for installing top-class geothermal power generation units that do not use fossil fuel. The Energy & Electric Systems Group also contributes to the creation of a sustainable society by providing advanced-technology products and services, including amorphous solar cells that have little environmental impact during manufacturing. Other benefits include the development of phosphoric acid fuel cells, which use hydrogen extracted from waste matter or by-products.
